Abstract

With the continuous advancement of China's new power system construction, the installed capacity of wind power in the vast Northwest China has continued to expand, with a constantly increasing proportion within the energy supply system; becoming an important cornerstone for the regional clean energy supply. Because of the vast territory and complex climate in Northwest China, it often occurs extreme severe weather such as typhoons, rain, snow and freezing conditions, which seriously disrupts the stable operation of wind turbines and the smoothness of wind power output, greatly reduces the operational reliability of the wind power system and poses great challenges to the safe and stable dispatch of the power grid. From the characteristics of extreme weather in Northwest China, this paper systematically analyzed the negative impact of different types of special weather conditions on the operation of wind turbine equipment and the output characteristics of wind power, carried out in-depth study on key robustness technology: optimization of centralized management mode of the wind power system, collaboration matching of energy storage systems, accurate prediction of wind power output, and anti-interference control of wind turbines. We verified the practical application effect of the multi-technology coupled control scheme through engineering examples. The research results show that the multi-technology coupled operational robustness control method is able to effectively enhance the power generation stability and efficiency of wind turbines under extreme weather conditions, increase the effective power generation during special weather, and reduce the failure rate of the power grid.
